Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling uses Finite Element Analysis to simulate the temperature and pressure interaction of liquids and gases in a defined space.  To better understand the role the enclosure plays in the operation of the data center, Great Lakes has partnered with Future Facilities which gives us the ability to perform CFD analysis with data center specific software.  With this software and our experienced operators, accurate models can provide solutions for existing problem areas, optimal layouts for future plans, or even test concepts without physically modifying the data center. Through accurate CFD models, time and money can be saved in two ways: PUE can be improved and increases uptime and only build outs that prove to be effective are implemented.
