Great Lakes is pleased to offer fingerprint access control systems from Digitus
Biometrics Access Security Solutions. db fingerprint access control systems can secure any area of your data center from the front door to the enclosure door.

Ponemon Institute has reported the average cost of a data center break-in to be $7.2 million. db products are so secure that Digitus Biometrics offers an Enhanced Warranty that reimburses customers, with Digitus biometric technology installed, for the costs associated with a physical security breach.

db’s proprietary technology uses an eight-point algorithm to develop a unique fingerprint signature without requiring the storage of any detailed personal information on the individual. db technology also includes Live Finger Detection, LFD, and the technology has never recorded a false positive. Digitus has been installing product since 2005 with no known security breaches. dbServerRack Access Control Solutions Control access to server cabinets and boost regulatory compliance with indisputable audit trails. Digitus Biometrics is a pioneer in biometric access control delivering the industry’s most complete set of solutions for physically securing your data and server rack cabinets.

Digitus Biometrics Offers Two System Architecture Choices:

  • db BUS* - offers multiple options for authentication, either at the cabinet level
or at the end of a row of cabinets
  • db ZERO-U* - a networked solution for server cabinets with a reader/controller
    combination in each cabinet
db BUS*
The db Bus access control system saves cost by eliminating the need for a controller and dbBUSpower supply at each cabinet. A sophisticated bus-architecture distributes fail-safe signals and electrical power from a single controller to up to 64 cabinet door locks. The db Bus offers multiple options for authentication, either at the cabinet level or at the end of a row of cabinets.

db ZERO -U
a networked solution for server cabinets with a reader/controller combination in each cabinet, available in two configuration options:
  1. A single fingerprint sensor can provide simultaneous access to front and rear door of the cabinet
  2. Separate fingerprint sensors on the front and rear cabinet doors, providing independent access to each door Digitus Biometrics also offers the db Nexis solution which delivers biometric access control to building and room doors on the same network platform as the db ServerRack. A customer can now have unified security covering every access point in the data center, from the front door to the enclosure door.
Originally developed for the U.S. Air Force, db ServerRack Access Control Solutions secure mission critical IT/telecom rack enclosures within data centers, colocation facilities, military, government, and educational, healthcare and industrial environments.

Stopping access control at the data center door provides no protection against insider theft. That’s why every data privacy rule and regulation – PCI DSS, HIPAA, FISMA and more – considers the protection of physical assets to be as important as protecting the data stored or processed in those assets.

db ServerRack Access Control solutions deliver the highest level of compliance with an indisputable audit trail covering all server cabinet access. When paired with db Nexus, that audit trail covers the entire enterprise.
